Streamline Studios is looking for a Real-Time Visual Effects Artists to join our production team and work on our current and future games. As a Game VFX artist you will be working both independently and collaboratively with the development team to make the best game possible. The Effects Artist is expected to concept/design FX either in 2D or 3D to convey the design/motion and overall idea of the FX to their leads.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be proactive and self-motivated, seeking out tasks remaining to be done
  • Plan, estimate and prioritize time frames for the completion of day to day tasks and track progress using the designated tracking tools;
  • Communicate with designers, programmers and artists to facilitate effective collaboration during the production process
  • Optimise work and maintain balance between quality and performance
  • Reference game design documents to develop an understanding of the environments, objectives, atmospheres, story and style of the project;
  • Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with game engines (e.g. UE4, Unity3D, etc.)
  • Good working knowledge of relevant 3D software and plug-in as well as how to optimize for video game hardware (e.g. Maya, 3Ds Max, FumeFx, Rayfire, Realflow etc.)
  • Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or After Effects for texture creation
  • Good working knowledge of particle driven effects and shader system
  • Good understanding of node based shaders and their creation
  • Basic 3D modelling and UV knowledge
  • Knowledge of video games industry and awareness of typical video game development processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of Maya dynamics, particles and expressions, as well as how to optimize for video game hardware
  • Familiarity with data management software (e.g. SVN, Perforce, etc.)
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Must be able to provide a demo reel or examples of professional work (Online Preferred), a breakdown of your contributions to the shot, and an accompanying resume
